Okay - So I looked at which way people are finding me online. Sarahlynn definately wins in that category! Some other folks, though, have googled info and come to my blog. I guess I'm not the only one who likes Lionel Ritchie's "Easy" (you know, Easy like Sunday Morning!)!!
Sorry if I'm not the guy you're looking for.
In the mean time -
I'm sooo excited that the NHL (that's hockey folks) comes back tonight. I like the olympics and such, but not nearly as much as I like to see the guys that I know night in and night out. The problem with living this close to DC is that the comentators are bozo's. Hockey missed an entire season, and these guys don't realize that to get new fans, they need to drop all of the dorky hockey lingo. You know, the stuff that makes my wife say "huh?"
Well, the game is starting! Later gaters.
I feel about ten years older than I'm supposed to, thanks to kidney disease! I will blog about my kidneys, my family, and other things in my seemingly ordinary life. Enjoy!

Oh What a Year!
It has been a year now since I have joined the "real world" of working. I worked at a summer camp and retreat center in Virginia. My wife and I decided that it was time to move on from our high priced apartment and lower paying job into Maryland. It's been a great move for both of us, due in great part to that fact that we love our jobs!
It had been several years since I had worn a tie (minus obligated funerals and weddings) at all, much less every day. I have since discovered that it's really not that bad. I actually love to buy ties! It's not nearly as expensive as shoes, so that's another plus.
At the camp, things were changing. I am okay with change, or so I would like to believe. The sporaddic hours were a bit more than my brain was able to handle anymore, particularly with my health being priority numero uno.
Now I love to go to work! I don't do the same thing two days in a row, and the regular hours are a great relief to my brain too. I was worried about traffic, but it actually gives me an opportunity to get in some quality alone time. I have even found that I'm ready to get "back" into shape!
Things are just lining up wonderfully. I have decided to start on a diet that has worked so well for her Anny. I start on the 1st of March, kind of a celebration of my first year of the real world.
Oh wait - I've just put it out there that I'm going to diet. My doctor will be happy, because he gives me grief about my weight every time im in the office, but I'm thinking that it will be lots of work for me.......
What a difference a year makes!

Hand Cranked What??
Gramps - my grandfather on my dad's side - has very little on his "to do" list anymore. He now fills his time watching things like the History Channel or Military Channel. This always makes for interesting conversations.
The other night over dinner I was poking fun at my aunt's age and that she had seen the first movie in the first theater. (she's not really that old, but she's the oldest and therefore gets lots of this) My grandfather bursts out with
"did you know that a lot of the early movies were actually porn?"
Yes, a lovely family dinner on Friday. Last night we re-gathered for a birthday party, and somehow he followed that up with
"yes, actually, most of the porn was probably hand cranked!"
It was a lovely shade of red that EVERYONE in the room turned.
Happy Valentines Day!
