On Sunday my wife and daughter are going to join another family on a trip to the local Pirate Festival. We have been to movies and the pool, to the mall and to the couch in our apartment where it is nice and cool.

Yesterday we went to a place that would easily be counted as the coooolest - a cave tour!

This was her first real visit at the doctor since we moved - we have done a flu shot and one trip to the emergency clinic, but those have been a long time ago.

On Monday my darling little one had a fever, and with daycare involved there are firm rules about that. Sniffles are okay, whining is okay, but fevers end the conversation about whether or not to send a child to daycare. Abby's spring break and Anny's did not line up because they operate in two different school district schedules. Our whole home-ownership story is filled with chaos and bad decisions, starting with the day we signed the purchase papers almost five years ago. We moved into our apartment on Halloween and things got out of boxes at a fast clip for about a week.  We sorted out clothes and kitchen stuff.  We basically unboxed a full wardrobe for Abby.

Abby –

Has had a cough for a week, but only when she is sleeping or laying down. She does this about three times a year when the seasons change drastically, as it has done here over the last ten days. I’ve slept on the couch with her a lot so that she is more upright.

It's an idea that I had a few years ago, when we needed to stock the freezer before Abby was born, but never got enough support to pull it off.
